SLOW FOOD PAVILION
Slow Food UK is back at the show this year with an even bigger producer pavilion. Small producers of Good, Clean & Fair food who have been nominated by Slow Food groups around the UK will be bringing a range of fabulous artisan products for you to discover.
A number of the producers in the pavilion have been awarded a Slow Food UK & BBC Good Food Show Bursary to enable them to promote their products so this is a rare opportunity to discover some new tastes and flavours.
Slow Food
In the pavilion you will also be able to find out all about Slow Food and the activities of the local Slow Food group in your area of the country.
Slow Food UK is part of the global Slow Food movement and is a catalyst for positive and lasting change in the seeking and preserving Good, Clean & Fair food. We are a unique, not-for-profit education and research based voluntary organisation. We aim to protect and preserve traditional foods and food cultures in the UK, preserve biodiversity, promote food and taste education and raises awareness about high quality and taste, environmental sustainability and social justice in the food we eat.
Taste Workshops
Taste Workshops are a distinctive feature of Slow Food’s presence at the BBC Good Food Shows. Slow Food is committed to food education, bringing not just the product, but the stories and issues behind the food and drink we consume to as many people as possible. Taste Workshops are a fun and informal way of trying delicious samples of artisan products, while hearing directly from the producer about the provenance of the products. The producers themselves will talk about their production processes, animal welfare and environmental impact – demonstrating how their products live up to the Slow Food standards of Good, Clean & Fair.

Taste Workshops presented by Slow Food
Taste Workshops give you a chance to experience the taste of food and drink being reared, grown or brewed by some of the UK’s best small producers with love and care and generally using traditional methods.
During each of the workshops producers will explain areas of our food heritage and how that reflects in the flavour and quality of what we eat. Our Taste Workshops are brought to you by Slow Food UK and all the products adhere to Slow Food’s Good, Clean and Fair standards.
Last year’s workshops included Nose to Tail Eating, Slow Bread and Butter, Real Veal and Ice Cream Sensations, and 2009’s programme will be equally exciting and varied.

Please note that some of our workshops will contain meat and there may not always be a vegetarian option so please check before booking.
