PLENTY OF THINGS TO DO AT MASTERCHEF LIVE!

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a culinary genius? Why not come and prove it at the Invention Test sponsored by Plenty, the nation’s leading household towel, at the forthcoming MasterChef LIVE event at London’s Olympia, 13th – 15th November 2009.

Plenty has teamed up with the BBC Good Food Show and producers of BBC1’s MasterChef to stage the ultimate cooking challenge in the Invention Test, sponsored by Plenty. Just like the programme, contestants will need to hone their skills and hold their nerve to create something tantalising with some tough ingredients – and this time in just 30 minutes.

Not only will there be previous winners of the TV show to impress, including Thomasina Miers and celebrity MasterChef winner, Nadia Sawalha, but contestants also need to tickle the taste buds of the live audience to get them salivating over their delectable dish. MasterChef enthusiasts will be excited to learn that formidable duo John Torode and Gregg Wallace will also be on hand to judge the three best dishes from each session – so there is a lot at stake.

For those with a sense of humour Brenda & Audrey, the nation’s favourite housewives from the Plenty adverts, will also be there to cheer contestants on and putting Plenty to the test by cleaning up any nasty spills. They will be relying on Plenty’s superior absorbency and strength – even when wet - to keep everything clean. Plenty is really versatile and can be rinsed and re-used, ideal for cleaning tasks in and around the home - it even has the Good Housekeeping Institute seal of approval to for that extra bit of reassurance, making it an essential for every home.

What’s more, there will be a variety of other treats on offer at the show, including the opportunity to for visitors to taste their way round London’s best restaurants – The Ivy, Le Caprice, Daphne’s and the MasterChef Restaurant where they’ll get the chance to taste winning dishes from the programme. Visitors can watch top chefs cooking live – including James Martin, Valentine Warner and Michel Roux Jnr, who will be using Plenty to mop up their spills, and even getting involved themselves with Master Classes in cupcake icing, sushi making and exclusive Urban Caprice Canapé Club sessions.

John and Gregg comment: “We are really excited about this year’s MasterChef LIVE show, particularly the Invention Test, sponsored by Plenty, which means the competitive element of the show can be opened up to the public for the first time, without the pressure of people having to go on TV to take part. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved and we can’t wait to see what they come up with – no pressure.”

Plenty is running a competition to win the ultimate MasterChef LIVE experience, including tickets to the MasterChef LIVE event in London, dinner for two at John Torode’s Smiths of Smithfield, a night’s accommodation for two at the Zetter Hotel London and £250 spending money.
